四川美术学院（Sichuan Fine Arts Institute），简称“川美”，位于中央直辖市重庆，是西南地区唯一一所高等美术院校，具有硕士学位授予权。学校为中国独立建制的31所普通高等艺术院校之一，中国八大美院之一，重庆市一流学科建设高校、全国深化创新创业教育改革示范高校、“全国创新创业典型经验高校”，重庆新增博士学位授予单位立项建设单位。

学院创办于1940年，时为四川省立艺术专科学校；1950年底调整更名为成都艺术专科学校，1953年与西南人民艺术学院合并，改为西南美术专科学校；1959年更名为四川美术学院。

学生证，就是刚入校时由学校签发给该校已获得学籍的学生的身份证明证件，用以证明学生在该校就读并证明学生身份。一般上面会有盖有学校钢印的本人一寸彩色或者黑白照片，如是大学生，有你所在学院以及班级，还有你的在校年限（入学时间－－毕业时间）。学生持学生证可以享受乘坐火车、汽车、外出旅游等优惠待遇。学生证限本人使用，不得转借他人使用。新生学生证和校徽的发放在新生入学报到两周后开始办理。

Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Chuanmei") is located in Chongqing, the municipality directly under the central government. It is the only higher art institute in Southwest China and has the right to confer master's degree. The university is one of the 31 independent art colleges and universities in China, one of the eight art academies in China, the first-class discipline construction university in Chongqing, the national innovation and entrepreneurship education reform demonstration University, "the national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience university", and the new doctoral degree awarding unit in Chongqing.

The college was founded in 1940 as Sichuan Provincial Academy of art; it was renamed Chengdu Academy of art at the end of 1950, merged with southwest people's Academy of art in 1953 and became southwest Academy of fine arts; it was renamed Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1959.
